Well this blog also helps me to document the pictures that I took during the field trips that I have to go during my module. whoa...i cant even rmb when my last post was.. ah well, in case you guys don't know, majority of my time is spent on my UROPS (i.e. Undergraduate research opportunities in science) dung beetle project. I think i have mentioned this research thing that I got from my supervisor in my last post. Well it worked out! So now I'm officially studying dung beetles! (n ht shudders in terror... D:)

most of my UROPS activites are recorded in this blog that i created with my UROPS matey (aka Eunice :D, who is working on ants). You guys can go check it out as we both update this one more frequently to keep track of the stuff that we have accomplished and currently doing. Anyway, I'll just include a brief summary of how my project is like:
1. Going to the Night Safari every tuesday morning to collect dah poo. x.x
2. Wrap dah poo
3. Bring dah poo to some uluuu forest to attract and subsequently end up trapping n killing (Dx) the poor beetles and many more other insects (e.g. ants, spiders, flies etc) i dont like fliesss....-.-
4. Sorting the beetles from the other insects
5. ID-ing the beetles (which is what I'm currently doing)
6. Analysis of the beetles gathered from the different forests that I visited (6 in total)
7. Subsequent submission of report and presentation

So field trip and sorting, both of which are rather taxing and tedious, are completed! So the people who are getting worried about the places that I'm going too, fret not. I survived! :))

I will not post any beetle pictures here cos some ppl hate them. HAHA. if you guys are interested to see what I caught, check out the blog that I mentioned previously.

today i finally completed the Southern Ridges! well the last time i attempted it... i stopped at hortpark. so the three of us (aka. ht, jo n me) hiked a total of 9km within 4hrs~ we feel accomplish. then we had superdog! so not so accomplish le. haha if u get what i meant. :x

but today's hike was awesome! the view of PSA and Singapore's iconic sea landscape was amazing from both kent ridge park and the henderson waves. especially at henderson waves, where you can somehow smell the subtle scent of the sea air. i am not sure if my nose was playing tricks on me but still, the cool breeze was epic. hahaha. jo took most of the shots. later pls visit her fb n tumblr after she has uploaded them. ah..i saw my supervisor at the alexandra arch. i chua tio. lol.

so other than today's hike... i have been working at NUS Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Museum, doing adhoc work which includes scanning thesis and photo slides, stock taking, random cleaning up messes etc etc. haha work there has been fun cos the museum staff are rather friendly and doing stock taking somehow offers me free museum merchandise, just that i must ask nicely first laa.. but Ms Wang (supervisor mentioned previously) is rather generous. yay. working at the RMBR has also offered an UROPS opportunity! which is a research project that offers 4MCs upon completion. Praise the Lord! :D

my research project title is......"Assessing dung beetles diversity in regenerating forests".  so.... i will be doing some dirty work den! shall not provide any explicit content.

holidays are flying by.... lion king coming nearer! birthday toooo and USS trip. n bidding. aiya.
